Ajax intends to recover material damage from club supporters after match against Feyenoord is interrupted

Amsterdam “Ajax” fined 25 thousand euros due to the behavior of fans during the 6th round match of the Dutch football championship with Feyenoord supporters will have to compensate for financial costs, according to the club’s website.

The meeting took place on September 24 in Amsterdam and was stopped in the 57th minute with the score 3:0 in favor of the guests. At the same time, the referee twice sent the teams to the locker rooms due to the fact that the spectators used pyrotechnics, throwing fireworks onto the field. In the 57th minute, after another incident, the referee decided to definitively end the match, which ended 5 days later and ended in favor of Feyenoord with a score of 4:0.

Subsequently, several riots took place around the stadium, resulting in injuries to police officers and, among other things, significant damage to the main entrance to the stadium. Ajax condemned the behavior of its supporters.

Ajax and the Royal Netherlands Football Association have agreed to resolve the incident. According to his terms, the club’s supporters’ stand will be closed during the next home match against Vitesse. Additionally, Ajax will be fined 25,000 euros.

“To date, Ajax has managed to identify and punish more than fifty people involved in the aforementioned incidents. The policy for recovering fines and damages from those responsible will now also become a starting point. Supporters for whom this sanction has direct consequences will receive additional notification from the club, the message specifies.

Ajax are at the bottom of the Dutch table with five points from eight matches.
