Maksimov’s team won the sixth championship match out of the last seven
SK Dnepr-1 confidently beat on the road Rukh in the rescheduled 5th round match Ukrainian Premier League – 2:0.
Rukh, who is in the group of leaders, if they win, could bypass Dnepr (as well as Shakhtar) and get within three points of Krivbass. But this opponent was too tough for Vitaly Ponomarev’s team, which had not won at home since the beginning of August.
Dnepr-1 established the final score by the 26th minute. Alexander Filippov, who had regained his form, scored again, scoring first himself and then providing an assist to Alexander Pikhalenok. At the end of the meeting, Rukh outnumbered the guests by almost half, but at the same time hit the target less often.
The victory was already the sixth for Yuri Maximov’s team in the last seven matches of the championship. Dnipro managed to recover after a painful defeat (0:3) from Krivbass in the 12th round. Now Dnepr-1 is in third place, losing one point to Polissya and two to Krivbass. Rukh remained fifth.
In the 13th round, Rukh will take on Obolon, and Dnepr-1 will take on Alexandria. Both meetings will take place on November 6.
