Maksimov: The first 10-15 minutes against Rukh were difficult, but then our players played the game

The coach of Dnepr-1 is pleased with how his team completed the four-game away stretch

Head coach SK Dnepr-1 Yuri Maksimov commented on the victory over Rukh in the postponed match of the 5th round of the Ukrainian Premier League.

“You saw everything in the game. Two teams played for results. We know that Rukh had a long unbeaten home streak, and it seems that today was the 13th game, and this number was very good for us.”

“Roc’s advantage at the beginning? The main thing is that we survived it. The first 10-15 minutes were very difficult for us, because the opponent is a strong and mobile team, all the guys are physically strong, they don’t allow us to easily leave our half of the field. But our players withstood all this, and then took control of the ball, after which we played the game.”

“I want to say that 11 days have passed and we have already played four matches. This was from the second to the third day, and today it was from the third to the fourth. Guys are not robots, and there should have been a pause for them too. It was necessary to recover physically. However, I am happy with the way they played football. This is the most important thing for me now.”

“Refereeing? This is not a question for me. There are match inspectors who can give their opinion on moments on the field. I am responsible for my guys.”

“Having a team is the main thing. The guys don’t care where to play: at home or away – it makes no difference.”

Let us remind you that Dnepr-1 beat Rukh on the road with a score of 2:0, scoring twice in the 26th minute. This victory was already the sixth for Yuri Maximov’s team in the last seven matches of the championship.

Dnepr-1 came in third place, losing one point to Polissya and two to Krivbass. On November 6, the Dnipro team will play at home for the first time in a month – against Alexandria.
