Argentinian striker Lionel Messi spoke about the goal he considers the most memorable of his career.
On Monday, Messi, 36, who plays for Inter Miami, received the Ballon d’Or for the eighth time in his career. At the end of 2022, the striker won the World Cup in Qatar as part of the Argentina national team.
“The goal I always remember is the one against Real Madrid, who we beat 2-0 in the Champions League semi-final at the Santiago Bernabeu,” Messi said, as quoted by Goal.
In 2011, in the semi-final of the Champions League, Barcelona beat Real Madrid with a score of 2-0. Messi scored both goals for the Catalan club, including one after a slalom in the center. That year, in the Champions League final, Barcelona beat England’s Manchester United 3:1.
