Sport Arena and PFL name the heroes of each round in the First League. In the 14th round – this is Bukovyna striker Palagnyuk
He played his 200th match in the First League and brought his personal tally to 45 goals. Moreover, Palagnyuk’s double is not just a goal for show. Bukovina won back at home three times (!) during the match with one of the leaders – Buzovskaya Niva. Of course, the contribution of the experienced forward was of great importance in the Chernivtsi team’s super comeback.
The hero of the fourteenth round in the First League, Vasily Palagnyuk, shared with Sport Arena his impressions of the fighting draw in the confrontation with Buzovskaya Niva (3:3).
— How important is it for you to be recognized as the best player of the tour in the First League?
— Recognition as the best player of the tour is quite important for every football player, so, of course, I am also very pleased to become the best in this category. For me, this is an additional incentive to continue helping the team win.
– In the match with Buzovskaya Niva, your team should have scored points to improve its chances for the Championship group. How much pressure did responsibility for the result put on you?
— Yes, we understand that now every game is extremely important for us in terms of fighting for the top 5. We go into each match as motivated as possible and give our all 100%, but, unfortunately, everything doesn’t always work out.
– The missed goal in the opening of the confrontation certainly changed the team’s immediate plans. What is the reason for such an unsuccessful start? Lost concentration?
— Indeed, there were some misunderstandings on the field, but we quickly pulled ourselves together and continued to follow the coach’s instructions. This brought results. It is important that you were able to demonstrate character and achieve results.
– However, you evened the score very quickly. Are fast flank attacks one of Bukovina’s strengths?
– We have many strengths. Of course, among them are flank attacks. It was thanks to active actions on the flank that we were able to quickly level the score in the game. It’s nice when your work in training brings results.
– Your team still went into the break, losing in the score. What changes have been made by the coaching staff?
– Yes, after the first half we were losing, and during the break we made adjustments to the tactical scheme. These changes had a positive impact on the development of the game in the second half, because we managed to get a draw in the fight.
The head coach and his assistants clearly indicated where and how to use my strengths during the development of attacks. I’m happy that I was able to score a double and thank the coaches for their trust.
– In the middle of the second half, after Tsurupin’s pass, you sent the ball into the net. Share your emotions from the fifth goal of the season?
— My main task as a striker is to score goals. Of course, the entire team always faces the main task for each match – to score and not concede in order to win the final victory. We couldn’t play reliably in defense, but we will work on our own mistakes.
— Three times in this match Bukovina had to fight back and your team coped with it. At the end of the meeting you scored after an assist from Skotarenko. This is probably the most important goal for you this season so far, considering the course of the match?
– Emotions are overwhelming after every goal scored. Of course, after we scored for the third time, there was a desire to put the pressure on the opponent and win this match. We understood that we could do it, but we didn’t have enough time. The result is a fighting draw. You should take positive moments from every match, but you shouldn’t forget about mistakes either. We will analyze everything in theoretical classes.
Every goal is important. I’m pleased that we managed to hit the opponent’s goal twice, but this is all thanks to teamwork and the insane dedication of each Bukovyna player.
“This match proved that Bukovina is a team with character and fighting qualities. Can you say that you are proud of yourself and the whole team?
“I’m extremely proud of the team and coaching staff. This is not the first game in which we fight for results through character, perseverance and fighting qualities.
— The high team spirit and tactical skills of your team this season are impressive. What is the first thing you improved on, considering last season?
– We have improved in all aspects, but yes, this is where we have improved most of all. There is still a lot of work, but now the main thing is to be positive – to complete this difficult year of 2023. We will do everything to bring positive emotions to the fans.
– Does the role of team leader further motivate you? Does your authority help in the locker room?
— The role of a leader is at the same time a great responsibility. We must not forget that football is a team game, and on the field each player is a leader in his position.
— In your opinion, is Bukovina capable of fighting for the top 5 in this part of the season?
– Of course, she is capable. We believe in ourselves. And, most importantly, I want to say a big thank you to our Armed Forces for the opportunity to live and play football!
