He has led the team since January 2021
Mainz announced the termination of cooperation with the team’s head coach Bo Svensson. The 44-year-old Danish specialist left the club due to disappointing results this season.
Svensson is a former Mainz player. He took charge of Carnival in January 2021 and helped the team avoid relegation. In the next two seasons, Mainz, under Bo’s leadership, finished 8th and 9th.
This season, Mainz has not won a single match in the Bundesliga – 3 draws and 6 defeats. With three points in their asset, the team closes the standings. Yesterday, November 1, Carnival lost to Hertha (0:3) in the 1/16 finals of the German Cup.
Mainz will prepare for the upcoming match against RB Leipzig under the guidance of U-23 team coach Jan Sievert. He was already acting. Carnival coach for one match in the 2020/21 season before Svensson’s arrival.
