Owner of SAF do Botafogo, John Textor blasted the arbitration, asked for the resignation of the CBF president and argued with Abel Ferreira
In the ‘final’ of the Brasileirão, the Botafogo was defeated 4-3 by Palm trees, at Nilton Santos. After the match on the night of last Wednesday, 1st, John Textor stated that Glorioso was “robbed” in the duel in the 31st round of the Brazilian Championship.
Shortly after the final whistle, the owner of SAF do Botafogo fired at the referee and asked for the resignation of Ednaldo Rodrigues, president of the CBF. The main complaint was the expulsion of Adryelson in the second half.
“The whole world saw it, this is not a red card. He (Adryelson) got the ball first. I’m not even sure if it was a foul. But it’s not a red card, he changed the game. This is corruption, this is theft”he said in an interview with the “Premiere” channel.
“Please fine me, Ednaldo, but you need to resign tomorrow morning. That’s what needs to happen. This championship has become a joke. Nobody deserves this, these Palmeiras players don’t want to win like that, we don’t want to lose like that. There are five games in a row. Gentlemen, you played a good game, it is not your fault, but this is corruption”, added Textor.
This needs to change. Ednaldo, you need to resign for the good of the game. This needs to end. This is theft, fine me. You can’t expel me, it’s my stadium, I’ll stay here”, fired the agent.
Text discusses with Abel Ferreira
According to journalist Eric Faria, from “TV Globo”, John Textor clashed with Abel Ferreira, coach of Palmeiras. The two would have argued on the edge of the Nilton Santos lawn after the final whistle. The American businessman was allegedly provoked by Piquerez.
On social media, Textor published an image of the move that led to Adryelson’s expulsion. In the caption, he said: “This is theft…happening now…fine…but resign!!!”
