Zhytomyr Polissya passes certification for participation in the season Premier League 2022/23 This was announced by the director of the club Vladimir Zagursky.

“Currently, the financial situation is very difficult, including for Premier League clubs. Now Polissya is undergoing certification for participation in the Premier League. If a team cannot take part in the next Premier League championship, then it is quite possible that we will be able to replace it, ”the functionary emphasized.

Zagursky also revealed some details of the new season in the PFL. According to him, the new season should start on August 25.

“If you fail to move to the Premier League, Polesie will continue to play in the First League. The new football season is due to start on August 25th. Matches will be played in two groups, but without spectators in the stands.”

“We will have teams from Lviv, Ivano-Frankivsk, Khmelnitsky, Ternopil, Kyiv. Teams from Cherkasy, Donetsk and Poltava regions will play in the other group.”

In the new season in the Premier League should play 16 teams. Championship matches will be held in two rounds (30 rounds). Officially, the format and dates of the next championship draw have not been approved.

UAF President Andriy Pavelko suggested that the start of the new season in the UPL could take place on dates close to the Independence Day of Ukraine.

In turn, the head of the Professional Football League Alexander Kadenko said that the new football season at the PFL level starts in late August or early September.

Matches are planned to be held in the central and western regions of the country against the backdrop of active hostilities in Ukraine. The total number of participants is 16 in the First League and 16 in the Second League.
