At a meeting of Premier League participants, this decision was made by a majority vote due to the “situation in Ukrainian football”
The General Meeting of Participants was held UPLat which the Association of professional football clubs of Ukraine “Premier League” decided by a majority vote: to require Ukrainian Football Association (UAF) convening an extraordinary reporting and election Congress.
In the published documents, this decision is justified by “the situation in Ukrainian football.”
If such a congress takes place, it is expected that a new UAF president should be elected at it instead of Andrei Pavelko, who is under investigation.
Earlier it became known that the majority of collective members of the UAF – regional football associations – made demands for the resignation of Anatoly Demyanenko from the post of first vice-president (UAF), the appointment of an interim secretary general of the organization, as well as an independent audit.
Let us recall that in May the Pechersky Court of the city of Kiev extended Pavelko’s suspension from the post of president of the UAF until July 9, 2023, and in early August extended the decision for a new period – two months, until October 2. The court also extended the investigation period in the case of the head of the UAF and the organization’s secretary general, Yuri Zapisotsky, until November 23, 2023.
The Shevchenkivskyi District Court of Lvov recently extended the detention of the President of the Ukrainian Football Association for 48 days. The head of the UAF will remain in pre-trial detention until November 23 inclusive.
In mid-June, the Shevchenkovsky District Court of Lvov imprisoned Pavelko in a pre-trial detention center for a period of 60 days – until August 14 inclusive. The bail of 9.88 million hryvnia, which was previously paid for the head of the UAF, was transferred in favor of the state. On August 9, it became known that the money that was paid as bail for Pavelko by lawyer Svyatoslav Bolinsky had a Russian trace.
The UAF considers the entire process to be custom work from former association leaders. In 2018, the “Schemes” program conducted an investigation, as a result of which journalists suspected the UAF and its president Andrei Pavelko of corruption through a plant for the production of artificial fields.
