The Donetsk club is not happy with the International Football Federation’s new rule regarding UPL legionnaires.
Shakhtar continued to express dissatisfaction with FIFA’s new rule, which allows legionnaires from the UPL to unilaterally suspend contracts with their employers.
Earlier, Pitmen general director Serhiy Palkin said agents, using new FIFA circulars, wanted to steal players from the Donetsk club.
Now, however, the director of the Donetsk football club, Darijo Srna, has said that the Donetsk club is in danger of losing many players in which it has invested money, and therefore may file a lawsuit against the International Football Federation.
“Many say they support Ukraine, but they don’t; for example, FIFA does not protect Ukrainian football and its players as UEFA does. We, as clubs, are looking for some kind of compromise in this difficult situation. , because otherwise, we would lose a lot of players in which we invested.
FIFA must understand that it is their duty to protect all players from Ukraine – this is their duty in this war. We must find a compromise, otherwise it will be difficult, and we may have to go to court.
We will fight for our clubs because we want to be respected – we are the best club in Eastern Europe and we will fight for this image and respect for us. Others helped us. UEFA President Aleksander Čeferin helped us survive, but FIFA doesn’t do it, and if they don’t, we will sue, ”Srna was quoted as saying by the Daily Mirror.
