Iga Sventek and Aryna Sabalenka did not finish their match due to rain
American tennis player Jessica Pegula became the first finalist WTA Finals 2023which takes place in Cancun, Mexico.
Pegula defeated fellow American Coco Gauff in the semifinals. The match lasted just over an hour, Jessica allowed her opponent to win only three games.
Pegula had won all of her previous four matches in the tournament. At the group stage, Jessica defeated Elena Rybakina, Aryna Sabalenka and Maria Sakkari. The American did not play a single set in them.
The second semi-final between Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka could not be played due to rain. The final was also postponed to Monday due to a large number of postponements.
