Football player “Liverpool” Luis Diaz appealed to representatives of the National Liberation Army (ELN) of Colombia to request the release of his father.
Media reported that last week the footballer’s parents were kidnapped near their home in northeastern Colombia. According to preliminary information, several armed men attacked them at a gas station and took them towards the border with Venezuela.
– It’s not a player who speaks. Today, it’s Luis Diaz, son of Luis Manuel Diaz. My father is a hardworking man, the breadwinner of the family… Now he has been kidnapped. I ask the ANO to release my father as quickly as possible. I also ask international associations to work on it to guarantee his freedom. Every second, every minute, we are more and more worried. We don’t have the words to describe the terrible feelings our family is experiencing, and we won’t until we return home. “I ask you to release my father now, respecting his integrity. I want to thank all Colombians, as well as the international community, for your support,” Diaz wrote on the social network.
This season, Diaz has made 11 appearances for Liverpool, scoring three goals and making one assist.
