The Parrots have won only one of their last five Segunda matches
Espanyol announced the termination of cooperation with the team’s head coach Luis Garcia.
The decision of the Parrot management was influenced by the team’s unsuccessful results in the Segunda. Espanyol have won only one of their last five league matches.
42-year-old Garcia took charge of Espanyol in April 2023, but did not save the team from relegation from La Liga. This season, the Parrots are in 5th position in the Segunda, gaining 24 points after 14 rounds.
As a player, Garcia played for Espanyol from 2005 to 2011, and won the 2006 Copa del Rey with the team. He has seven caps for the Spanish national team.
Espanyol’s next match will be away against Huesca on November 12.
Luis García finalitza la seva etapa com a entrenador de l’#RCDE. ¡Gracias, por todo, @Luis_Garcia__10 y muchísima suerte! 🤍💙
