The President of the Ukrainian Football Association told how it plans to start the season.
The new football season in Ukraine begins in the regions of the capital, Kyiv, Lviv, Zakarpattia and Ternopil. UAF President Andrei Pavelko spoke about it on the air of the CLEAN PIDKAST YouTube channel. At the same time, the functionary admitted that in the future this list could be expanded.
“The beginnings of the UPL are Kyiv, Kyiv region, Lviv region, Transcarpathian region, most likely Ternopil region. These are our regions where there are many opportunities for football infrastructure.
We will work with all authorities to ensure that the championship starts in these regions. This list can be expanded. We understand this is the biggest challenge.
Perhaps it is a decision for our clubs participating in UEFA competitions to provide the opportunity, if the two clubs are competing in European competitions, they may, within the framework of the championship, have the opportunity not to return after matches of European competitions, play their head-to-head matches abroad, previously agreed between them and warned the UPL.
If the club stops participating in competitions in Europe, then it has no such opportunity and only plays in Ukraine. All of our clubs play in Ukraine, but individual games can be arranged abroad if the two clubs play in competitions in Europe, ”Pavelko said.
