The control match will take place in Gdansk on November 16
Head coach Ukrainian national team Sergey Rebrov said that the blue-yellows are forced to play a test match with Lechia by order UEFA.
“This match is not needed now, but UEFA is telling us that we have to play. I believe that sparring is not necessary now, but unfortunately we have to play this control game.”
“There will be surprises in the lineup for some, but I always say that if we call someone up, then they deserve this call. They deserve it with their performance.
“We hope that Tsygankov will return to form. There are some injuries to the players, but I think that everyone will be ready for the national team games.”
The Ukrainian national team will play against Lechia in Gdansk, where the blue-yellows will be based during the November training camp. The match will take place on November 16, other details of the match have not yet been specified.
Let us remind you that Sergei Rebrov’s team will play against Italy on November 20 in Leverkusen at the BayArena stadium, kick-off at 20:45 local time. At the end of October, ticket sales for the final match of the blue-yellows in the group round of qualifying began.
The Ukrainian team takes second place in Group C with 13 points. Italy is in third place with ten points, having played one match less. Squadra Azzurra will host North Macedonia on November 17. The Ukraine-Italy match will determine the winner of the second ticket from Group C to Euro 2024.
