The blue-and-yellows qualified as one of the best teams, finishing third in the group
Ukraine U-17 national team received a ticket to the elite round of qualification European Championship 2024.
The blue-yellows took third place in the qualifying group in October, missing out on Germany and Finland. Out of 13 groups, five tickets were given to the best third place winners.
Vladimir Yezersky’s team tied with Finland (2:2) and lost to Germany (0:1). In the standings of the teams that took third place, the Ukrainians scored one point with a goal difference of 2:3. After playing matches in ten groups, the blue-yellows occupy second place in the ranking, behind Denmark. In the qualifying round, matches will have to be completed in three more groups, while Ukraine will no longer fall below the “passing” fifth place in the rankings.
The elite round of qualification will take place in March 2024. The 15 best teams will advance to the final part of the tournament, which will take place from May 20 to June 5 in Cyprus.
