Dnepr-1 beat Alexandria in a match that was repeatedly interrupted due to air raid warnings
Head coach Dnepra-1 Yuri Maximov happy with the victory in the match with Alexandria (1:0) in the 13th round Ukrainian Premier League.
“It’s very good that we won today. Alexandria is a good team with young guys who can press well and are well prepared technically. They still need time to grow in order for the desired result to come. I thank my team for this victory. We went back to the locker room three times in the second half, went out and came back again, but the guys survived it all, for which I am grateful to them and congratulate them on their victory.”
“We did not follow the match between Polesie and Krivbass. We rely only on ourselves and don’t look at how other teams play. The main thing is to count on yourself.”
“Miroshnichenko played left back and joined the attack according to the situation. He had performed in this position before in Alexandria. We talked to him about it and he said that he has experience playing on the left flank and is ready to play there.”
The match between Dnepr-1 and Alexandria lasted almost 5 hours. The match in Dnepr began at 17:15 (15 minutes later than planned) due to an air raid warning. For the same reason, the match was suspended three times in the second half, the final whistle sounded at 21:52.
Dnepr-1 rose to second place in the UPL, behind Krivbass in additional indicators. In the next round, Maximov’s team will play against Shakhtar on November 12.
