Athletistic / Football. CSKA Moscow captain Igor Akinfeev recalled the home World Cup held in Russia in 2018. There the 37-year-old Russian became one of the main characters.
“I think the country gave us this holiday. Patriots are not born, but become ones. Everyone who lives in Russia should be at least a little patriotic.
During the 2018 World Cup, the whole country united with the team, and the joy and emotions were colossal. It was the best vacation that we have seen in the history of sports,” Akinfeev is quoted as saying by TASS.
Igor Akinfeev graduated from CSKA. He spent his entire career at the military club and helped the red and blues become national champions six times, win the Russian Cup and Super Cup seven times and also win the UEFA Cup in 2005.
CSKA has scored 24 points in 14 matches this RPL season and is now in third place in the standings. Last season, the military team took second place in the national championship, and also won the Russian Cup.
