Gabriel Jesus plans World Cup and talks about Arsenal deal

Gabriel Jesus highlighted the importance of Edu Gaspar in the agreement with Arsenal and spoke about his dream of playing in the World Cup in Qatar in November

Gabriel Jesus left Manchester City after five seasons. Despite pleasing Pep Guardiola with his style of play, the club chose not to renew his contract and not continue with the player in the squad. Free on the market, the Brazilian striker was scouted by some teams and signed with Arsenal.

As a Gunners player, Gabriel spoke about the importance of Edu Gaspar in the agreement between the striker and the club. When he began to be summoned by Tite, the manager was still working at Brazilian Team and left his position to take over Arsenal, with this, the proximity to the striker facilitated negotiations.

He was very important. I always look to the project and to the future. I’m still young, I want to grow, keep winning, keep that mentality. I already knew Edu from the national team and, of course, when he was a player. He is a great person and that made me believe in him, in the Arsenal project and in Mikel (Arteta)“, commented.

In addition, the new Arsenal number 9 talked about the possibilities of playing for the Brazilian team in another World Cup. Even though he was scored in 2018 after not scoring any goals in the tournament, Gabriel Jesus wants to have another chance, along with Gabriel Martinelli and Gabriel Magalhães.

It would be amazing for us. I’ve already played a World Cup, the last one. I know how good it is to be there with Brazil. We grew up seeing players like Ronaldo, Ronaldinho, Kaka, Romario and we want to be next. The World Cup is now and we have the opportunity to play together, coming from the same club, three Gabriels, I would be very happy“, said.
