Nominally a home match Shakhtar against Barcelona in the fourth round of group H Champions League will be judged by a Bosnian panel of judges led by Irfan Pelto.
The chief referee will be assisted on the lines by assistants Senad Ibrisimbegovic and Davor Beljo. The fourth referee is Milos Gigovich.
The 39-year-old Pelto has already refereed two matches in the group stage of the Champions League this season, showing 7 yellow and two red cards and awarding one penalty.
Pelto already crossed paths with Shakhtar in 2023. In the February Europa League playoff match, the Pitmen defeated Rennes 2:1. In addition, it was under the Bosnian referee that the Ukrainian national team defeated Lithuania away from home in 2019 – 3:0.
