The match will take place in Tokyo in the presence of Ukrainian immigrants, the proceeds will go to the restoration of Ukraine
Japanese club Avispa Fukuoka officially confirmed the holding of a charity match against Donetsk Shakhtar in support of the people of Ukraine who suffered from Russian military aggression.
The match will take place on December 18 at the Japan National Stadium (Shinjuku, Tokyo) with the support of the Japan Football Association and the Japan Professional Football League, as well as with the assistance of the UN.
According to the host party, the goal of the event is to spread support for Ukraine in the world through football. Profits from ticket sales will be donated to the reconstruction of Ukraine.
It is separately reported that Ukrainian immigrants who were previously evacuated to Japan will be invited to the match.
Let us remind you that in August the Miners played a charity match with Tottenham (1:5). As it later became known, the proceeds in the amount of 505 thousand pounds sterling (22 million hryvnia) will be used by the Shakhtar Social Foundation to implement projects to support and assist Ukrainians who suffered as a result of a full-scale war with Russia.
Avispa Fukuoka is a club in the Japanese J1 League, occupying eighth place three rounds before the finish (there are 18 teams in the elite Japanese division).
In the early hours of February 24, 2022, Russia launched rocket and air strikes on most Ukrainian cities and then launched a full-scale military invasion. The war against Russia has continued for the 623rd day.
