Alexandria’s mentor talks about the defeat in the long-suffering match at his home stadium
Head coach Alexandria Ruslan Rotan commented on his team’s defeat from SK Dnepr-1 in the 13th round match Ukrainian Premier League (0:1).
“The guys strived for victory, there were chances, but we didn’t capitalize on them. If we talk about the match, you can’t say much here, four air raid raids during the match is a first for us, it’s very difficult for the players to log in every time and then start all over again. As for me, the match did not turn out to be cohesive.”
“I am pleased to return to the Dnepr Arena – this is my home stadium, but there was no principle.”
“A plan to correct the situation? There is a very simple plan, and you know it,” concluded the 42-year-old coach.
Let us remind you that Alexandria lost with a minimal score in a fight that lasted almost 5 hours. The match in Dnepr started at 17:15 (15 minutes later than planned) due to an air raid warning. For the same reason, the match was suspended three times in the second half, the final whistle sounded at 21:52.
Ruslan Rotan played for Dnepr for a total of 15 years (1999 – 2005, 2008 – 2017) – 409 matches, 45 goals, 42 assists.
Alexandria, under his leadership, extended its winless streak in the championship to 11 matches (4 draws and 7 losses). The citizens are in 14th position with 10 points.
In the next round, Alexandria will host Veres on November 11.
