The Transcarpathian team finds itself in interesting company
Having drawn with Vorskla in the match of the 13th round of the UPL, Minai extended his streak without victories in the Ukrainian Championship up to 13 matches. Transcarpathian team along with the Kremnya farm club – Kremnya-2 – are the only ones in the professional football league system of our country who have not yet won this season. At the same time, Minaya’s streak is not the worst in his history, and among the participants in the TOP 20 European Championships there are teammates of Vladimir Sharan’s team in misfortune.
Let’s start with the first one. 13 matches without a win is not a record streak for Minaya. In his second season in the elite – the 2021/2022 championship, which was not played due to the large-scale military invasion of Russia, Minaj could not win 17 (!) rounds in a row. After winning the first round over Alexandria, the Transcarpathians ended in a draw in seven matches and lost ten.
As of November 7, there are five more clubs in the TOP 20 European Championships, which includes Ukraine, that have not won in their leagues. Three of them are from the Big Five championships. Out of habit, we will include France there and will not take into account Norway, where they play according to the “spring-autumn” system.
Thus, in Serie A, Salernitana did not win a single match out of 11 – four draws and seven defeats. In La Liga, after 12 rounds without a win, Almeria has three draws and nine lost matches. In Ligue 1, the once formidable Lyon cannot win 10 rounds – four draws and six defeats.
Also still without victories are Austria Lustenau, playing in the Austrian Bundesliga, and Hvidovre, representing the Danish Super League. It is noteworthy that these teams have the same difference in goals scored and goals conceded – minus 24 each.
In the Israeli championship, which is included in the TOP 20, Hapoel Jerusalem and Ashdod have not yet won: the first has two draws in five matches, the second has one. The tournament in the country is currently suspended.
