Real Madrid midfielder Toni Kroos launches a football “League of Icons”.
The German midfielder is implementing the project together with Twitch streamer Elias “Eligella” Nerlich. The league starts in the summer of 2024. The format of the event is still unknown.
Kroos plans to invite famous football players, representatives of the entertainment industry, and musicians to participate. The midfielder, speaking on a podcast with his brother Felix, said he expected “a faster, more varied, action-packed game that can take unexpected turns” and “football with more goals and more entertainment.”
Kroos, 33, has been playing for Real Madrid since 2014. The Germany national team midfielder’s contract runs until the summer of 2024. This season, the midfielder has played 14 matches for the club in all competitions, scoring one goal and providing three assists.
