Midfielder Shakhtar Georgy Sudakov summed up the results of the match of the 4th round of the group stage of the Champions League with Barcelona (1:0). The midfielder stressed that the Donetsk club is capable of reaching the playoffs of the main European tournament.
“We came out much more confident than in the first match in Barcelona, we worked hard for this, we figured it out, understood what we needed to focus on, and corrected the mistakes. First of all, we had to keep a clean sheet, and we will always find our chances. And so it happened: we gave Barcelona little to do, and Daniil Sican scored an incredible goal – we took advantage of this and won the match.”
“It’s very difficult to go against a team like Barcelona for the first time, you get a little nervous. But already in the second half in Spain we showed that we can play. We gained this experience there, and probably it was the second half in Barcelona that added confidence to us. And now we have proven it – from the first minutes we began to play our own football. Of course, everyone understands that this is Barcelona and it was difficult. We played without the ball most of the time, but we also showed good chances and won – that’s the most important thing.”
