The history of Ukrainian football has been rewritten – for the first time, a female coach was at the head of a men’s team
Former football player of the Ukrainian national team, multiple national champion Iya Andrushchak officially appointed coach of the men’s team Vorskla U-19.
Andrushchak from 2003 to 2023 played for the leading clubs of Ukraine – Legend (Chernigov), Zhilstroy-1 (Kharkov), Zhilstroy-2 (Kharkov) / Vorskla (Poltava). As a member of these teams, she became the national champion five times and won the Cup 10 times.
As a member of the Ukrainian women’s national team, Andrushchak played 58 matches and scored two goals.
Andrushchak’s historic contract with Vorskla U-19 for Ukrainian football was signed for six months. A young specialist has the right to work with a youth team if she has a UEFA A-diploma.
In the current championship among peers, Vorskla U-19 scored 13 points after 13 rounds and ranks twelfth in the standings.
