According to Mircea, he has not yet talked to anyone from Romania about continuing his career
Mircea Lucescu denied information about his negotiations with Dinamo Bucharest.
“I haven’t spoken to anyone from Romania. At the moment, there is no question of me contacting any Romanian club,” said the ex-mentor of Dynamo Kyiv.
Earlier, the president of the Romanian club, Andrei Nicolescu, said that he was “in the early stages” of negotiations with the 78-year-old specialist.
Let us remind you that Lucescu resigned on November 3 after Dynamo’s defeat in the match with Shakhtar (0:1). At the same time, the coach announced that he had decided to end his coaching career.
The Romanian specialist has led the Kyiv team since 2020. In the first season under the leadership of the Romanian, the white-blues became the champion of Ukraine, and also won the Ukrainian Cup and Super Cup.
Of the last 19 years, Mircea gave fifteen to Ukrainian top clubs – Shakhtar and Dynamo. In total, he devoted exactly a third of his 45-year coaching career to Ukraine.
Alexander Shovkovsky has been appointed to the position of acting head coach of Dynamo Kyiv. The white-blues will play their next match on November 12 against Krivbass.
Lucescu played for Dynamo Bucharest from 1963 to 1977, and subsequently coached this club for five years (1985 – 1990). During this period, the team won the Romanian championship and twice triumphed in the country’s Cup.
Currently, Dinamo Bucharest is in 15th place in the Romanian championship standings, having achieved only two wins in 15 games.
