Paulo Sousa could become Al Ittihad’s new head coach

Saudi Arabia could become the tenth country in the coaching career of the Portuguese pilgrim

Famous Portuguese specialist Paulo Souza named among the candidates for the position of head coach of the Saudi Al-Ittihad.

Let us remind you that on November 8 it became known about the separation of the Saudi Arabian champion from another Portuguese Nuno Espirito Santo, who had worked at this club since the summer of 2022.

Souza, 53, has been coaching on his own since 2008. Over the course of a decade and a half, he managed to work with various clubs from England, Hungary, Israel, Switzerland, Italy, China, France and Brazil, as well as with the Polish national team (during 2021).

The Portuguese’s last job was in Salernitana, where he was sacked in October after managing just three points in eight rounds.

Al-Ittihad has scored only three points in the last five rounds of the championship, and is already 11 points behind the leading Al-Hilal. On Friday, November 10, Santu’s ex-team will host Abha in the 13th round of the Saudi Pro League.
