Russian coach Sergei Balakhnin said that the Krasnodar players Nikita Krivtsov And Alexander Chernikov deserved a call-up to the Russian national team for November training camp.
On November 7, the national team coaching staff summoned the team for the November training camp, during which a friendly match with the Cuban national team will take place on November 20 in Volgograd. The list included 29 players, including Krivtsov and Chernikov.
“It is already progress that Karpin called Krivtsov and Chernikov. These guys have improved a lot now; in the center of the field, they determine the game of Krasnodar. It will be interesting to watch them in the national team. Their qualities have been known to everyone for a long time, I don’t understand why Karpin didn’t call them out sooner. Krivtsov and Chernikov 100 percent deserved to be called up to the national team,” Balakhnin said, as quoted by RB Sport.
In October, the Russian team beat the Cameroon team (1:0) and tied with Kenya (2:2). On November 13, the training camp of Valéry Karpin’s team will begin before the match against the Cubans.
Russian clubs and national teams have been suspended from participating in tournaments under the auspices of FIFA and UEFA due to the situation in Ukraine.
