The Reds retain first place in Group E
Liverpool unexpectedly lost Toulouse in the away match of the group round Europa League 2023/24 – 2:3.
The hosts opened the scoring in the first half, with midfielder Aron Donnum scoring. After the break, Theis Dallinga scored Toulouse’s second goal.
Liverpool reduced the gap thanks to a goal from Christian Casseres, and immediately conceded a third goal from Franck Magri. At the very end, Diogo Jota again brought the gap to a minimum. Already in stoppage time, the Reds scored the third goal, but the video replay recorded a handball and the goal was canceled.
Liverpool suffered their first defeat in Group E. The Reds continue to lead with 9 points. Toulouse is in second place with seven points.
In the next round, Liverpool will host LASK, for which Ukrainian Maxim Taloverov plays. Toulouse will play Union at home. Both matches will take place on November 30.
