Earnings 23/24, in Serie B a decrease of 8% compared to the last championship

Salaries will decrease for the 2023/24 BKT season. A beneficial process that has resulted in a reduction of 8% compared to the previous football season and which, together with the financial year 2022/23, completed with the approval of the Assembly at the end of October, represents an important indicator for a Serie B system that wants to increasingly achieve economic virtues. The latter goal is fundamental to ensuring the health of competition, despite the unfavorable economic situation affecting the world of the football industry and the least reciprocity in Europe.

The drop in remuneration is not only the result of a change of seven teams when counting relegations and promotions, but is also confirmed by a comparison between the 13 clubs present in both sporting seasons, which also saw a drop of 4%. due to the policy pursued by League B to promote young Italians through a new distribution of income between clubs.

It is the sustainability of the system that is one of the key points on which League B bases its idea of ​​reform, which concerns not only the organization of championships, but rather the path leading to a more developed and effective football, generating increased competitiveness and, as a result, increased attractiveness. To go through a greater valorization of youth, which must also be achieved through the establishment of new forms of remuneration.
