Former captain of Italian Milan Paolo Maldini is the main candidate for the post of director of the Saudi club Al-Ittihad, reported journalist Fabrizio Romano.
Saudi side Al Ittihad announced the departure of coach Nuno Espirito Santo earlier in November. Al-Ittihad features Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema.
“Maldini is the main candidate for the position of director of Al-Ittihad, the former director of Milan will soon decide on his future, Maldini is considering the possibility of working with the club,” the journalist said on his social networks.
Paolo Maldini played for the Italian national team, with which he became a finalist in the World Cup in 1994. The Italian spent his entire career in Milan.
