Athletistic/Football. Former Ukrainian Dynamo and Shakhtar head coach Mircea Lucescu said he does not want to talk about ex-Ukrainian national team captain Anatoly Tymoshchuk. Currently, the Ukrainian specialist works as an assistant to Sergei Semak in the coaching staff of Zenit St. Petersburg.

“I know you will definitely have questions about Tymoshchuk. The last time we spoke with him was before the start of the SVO (the wording was changed in accordance with the requirements of Roskomnadzor) in Ukraine. His current political position is not clear to me. I don’t want to talk more about this man, although we communicated closely with him. At Zenit he was my assistant,” Lucescu said in an interview with Ukrainian media.

  • Lucescu: “I will never return to Russia – I don’t want to leave Ukraine as an enemy”

In 2022, the UAF banned Anatoly Tymoshchuk from any football-related activities and also deprived the former footballer of all titles for life due to his work in the Russian Federation. Later, Tymoshchuk appealed this decision to the UAF appeals committee, but he received a complete refusal. The procedure is currently underway before the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) in Lausanne (Switzerland).
