John Textor is sued by CBF president, Ednaldo Rodrigues

The owner of SAF do Botafogo, John Textorwas processed by Ednaldo Rodriguespresident of CBF. The trigger for the executive to make such a decision were the businessman’s recent statements. The slander action was filed last Thursday, 9th, at 9th Special Criminal Courtat Barra da Tijuca Regional Districtin the city of Rio de Janeiro.

The Brazilian Football Confederation is also a plaintiff in the same case against the American businessman. The entity fulfilled its promise to take legal action against the owner of SAF Botafoguense, but abandoned doing the same against the digital influencer, Felipe Neto. Soon after the defeat to Palmeiras, still on the pitch of Nilton SantosJohn Textor harshly criticized the entity and called for the president’s resignation, stating that the club had been harmed by the refereeing during the match.

“The whole world saw it, this is not a red card. He (Adryelson) got the ball first. I’m not even sure if it was a foul. But it’s not a red card, he changed the game. This is corruption, this is theft. Please fine me, Ednaldo, but you need to resign tomorrow morning. That’s what needs to happen. This championship has become a joke.
