Tlumak: The main task of the Carpathians is to reach the Premier League

In June, the Lions broke up with 13 players

Main coach Karpat Andrey Tlumak spoke about the tasks of the team for the next season and about the personnel situation in the club. Earlier, the Lions announced the termination of cooperation with 13 players.

“Today, the main task of both our team and the country is to win the war so that we drive out the occupier. It is most important. As far as football is concerned, it is promotion to the Premier League and further, further and further,” Tlumak said.

“We have not played football for six months. When we were at the training camp in Turkey, the war, unfortunately, found us there. Our contracts were signed for one year. We sat down and discussed. Everyone made their own decision. Someone wanted to come, someone decided to break the contract and look for their sports strength in other teams.

“The moment is such that any team with high goals needs to be updated a little every year so that fresh blood comes in, competition increases. We are working according to the classic schedule for building a club.”

“backbone [команды] stay, I’m happy with it. These are Boldenkov, Priymak, Captain Kozhanov, Chachua, Taranukha, Galenkov. I think there are no problems. We have signed 12 young players, we are counting on them.”

In the 2021-22 season, Karpaty played in Group A of the Second League. At the time of the early suspension of the championship, the Lviv club was in first place in the standings.

Earlier, PFL President Alexander Kadenko said that 16 clubs should start in the championships of the First and Second Leagues. The PFL season could start in late August or early September.
