Bari, Marino: “Two points thrown”

Galletti’s coach Pasquale Marino commented on the draw with Feralpisalo on RadioBari. Below are his words taken from Tuttobari.com:

“Up until the own goal we were probably playing our best game, getting to the defenders a lot of times in addition to scoring. I didn’t think something like that could happen because until 2:0 we didn’t make any mistakes. We left too much space at one point, the worst thing was that we then disappeared from the field and – despite some controversial episodes – made a lot of mistakes. Proper balance and space were lost. Something like this should never happen again, we must learn from what happened today and we must respond. If we hadn’t scored the 2-0 goal, perhaps the match would have turned out differently. We conceded few goals in the first half; what happened should not cause a psychological resonance. The reaction and recovery at the end gives us hope, but today we lost two points. In the first half, the team played with great intensity, and we had to close the score first, and then everything was decided by episodes. The penalty can be missed, but Diaw could have scored earlier. To fix this, we made a 4-2-4 scheme, the solution worked as best as possible. There was a very obvious foul by Dorval in the goal, it would be right to go and watch the action on VAR. The match against Venezia will be a test, we are encouraged by the meeting with a team that is favorite for promotion, and in these two weeks we will have to work on some corrective measures, also from a psychological point of view. The reaction should be a strong team, which we proved in the last matches. We didn’t miss much, our opponents were very accurate.”
