Rivne club was defeated by Alexandria
Coach Veres Sergey Lavrinenko After the defeat from Alexandria (0:1) in the 14th round, the UPL complained about the weather conditions. However, the coach admitted that his team is capable of getting out of its unfortunate tournament position.
“The game today was truly combative. The weather made adjustments. It was hard, the ball got stuck in puddles on the field. But both teams showed character, no one wanted to give in. In such games everything is decided by one goal. Unfortunately, we failed to score today. Alexandria took its chance and won.”
“Today we built our game on counterattacks. That is why Alexandria had more possession of the ball. We tried to actively meet the opponent in the middle zone and sharply counterattack. The guys showed character and fought. But it happens: one good attack from the opponent, and we missed that decisive goal.”
“Of course, we are unhappy with the result. We must continue to work. Everything depends only on us. We must get out of the situation in which we find ourselves.”
Veres is in 15th place in the UPL standings. Lavrinenko’s team scored eight points in 13 meetings.
In the next round, the Rivne club will play with Metalist 1925. The meeting will take place on November 25.
