Rukh’s mentor is confident that the quality of the game is the key to the result
Head coach Ruha Vitaly Ponomarev commented on his team’s away victory over Chernomorets (3:2) in the 14th round Ukrainian Premier League.
“Rukh is satisfied with the victory, because the team was preparing for a serious match. We were up against an opponent who played modern football. Our players showed character, thanks to them for that. Now it is important to win every game, however, the result should not put pressure on the youth.”
“We always play active football and will not deviate from our principles. We have a young team that is now learning to demonstrate high-quality play and act on the field from a position of strength, putting pressure on their opponents.”
“In almost every match, Rukh has a territorial and game advantage. However, in several previous matches there were unsatisfactory results due to the fact that the youth of football players sometimes leads to instability. Unfortunately, they have to go through such mistakes, only then will they progress. But I am grateful to the players and I told them that we have to play football, which we practice in training, and then they will develop.”
“After conceding a goal at half-time, I asked the guys to take this situation firmly, because it is important that they do not break down psychologically. Chernomorets’ goals were illogical and did not follow from the context of the game. But we continued to stick to our line – there will be a quality game, and the result will come.”
Let us remind you that the rivals in Odessa had a spectacular shootout. Rukh quickly took the lead, during the game Chernomorets came back and took the lead, but then remained in the minority, and the Lviv team managed to snatch victory.
Rukh secured fifth place in the table. Ponomarev’s team managed to catch up with Shakhtar on points (24) – while the Miners have two games in hand.
On November 26, after the international break, Rukh will play away against Dynamo Kyiv.
