Alessandro tries to invade the VAR room

Corinthians manager, Alessandro Nunes was outraged by refereeing decisions in the match against Grêmio; confusion happened at halftime

Manager of Corinthians, Alessandro Nunes tried to invade the VAR room at the Arena, in Porto Alegre, after the expulsion of Bruno Méndez. The Timão player received the red card for a harsh tackle in the play following a possible penalty on the left-back Matheus Bidu.

The two moves outraged the black and white delegation. With one less from ten in the first stage, Timão sought a 1-0 victory, with a goal from Angel Romeroand moved seven points clear of the relegation zone.

In an episode recorded by journalists in the field access tunnel, Alessandro was caught going to the VAR room during halftime of the match in Porto Alegre and a small confusion began. He and other Timão employees tried to invade the place, but without success.

The space, however, did not receive the video arbitration team. The room only houses transmission equipment. The center that controls the VAR is at the CBF headquarters, in Rio de Janeiro.

Six minutes into the first half, Matheus Bidu fell in the Grêmio area in a dispute with João Pedro. The referee ordered the game to continue and, following the play, Bruno Méndez was sent off for a foul in Lucas Besozzi. The Uruguayan initially received a yellow card, but was sent off after checking the video. Corinthians players complained a lot about the penalty not being awarded before the expulsion.
