– Sochi has very good conditions for the development of football. Therefore, we focused on the education of young children and the academy, its development. We want children to grow up seeing the results we (Sochi FC) show in professional sports. So that they understand that there is a development perspective. In Russia, as well as with the countries that will meet us, – said the president of FC Sochi

– After the success of Sochi, more local guys contacted the club’s academy?

– These are both local and Abkhazian guys. The people of Anapa come to bring the children to training. This suggests that parents also see a future here. Our conditions allow us to obtain results at the highest level. Today, representatives of Zenit held a master class in our academy, and in the evening there will be an interesting match (against Red Star) in Sochi. That’s why we’re holding it here, so that, among other things, the academy guys feel interest and know that they’re needed and that they’re being treated here,” Rotenberg said.

The Sochi Football Club Academy opened in 2019. During this time, the players of the academy won the city championship (2010, 2011) and the Krasnodar Territory championship (2010), are became the runners-up at the Hopes Cup (2013), twice won bronze medals – at the Hopes Cup (2007) and the Andrey Kanchelskis Cup (2008. year).

Sochi has been playing in the RPL since 2019, last season the team took second place in the Russian championship for the first time in history.
