Dnepr-1 is experiencing financial problems and is forced to sell its leaders
Midfielder SK Dnepr-1 Alexander Pikhalenko substantively interested Polesie. The leading player of the UPL leader may be sold this winter, since his club is not experiencing the best economic situation, reports journalist Viktor Vatsko.
According to the source, the Dnipro team will be forced to part with one or two players in the next transfer window in order to provide a “financial cushion” for the spring part of the 2023/24 season.
Pikhalenok is considered the main asset of the club from Dnepr. According to Transfermarkt, his estimated transfer value is €5 million. For comparison, 26 of his teammates from the first team’s application total less than 17 million.
Polesie is showing interest in acquiring a central/attacking midfielder, but Alexander himself, if he leaves the current team, may not want to stay in Ukraine and prefer one of the European championships. Let us remember that in September it was reported that the Israeli Hapoel (Beer Sheva) was interested in the football player.
This season, Pikhalyonok played 20 matches for Dnepr-1 in all tournaments, scored 4 goals, and gave the same number of assists.
Yuri Maksimov’s team beat Shakhtar (3:1) in the last round and went into the international break as the leader of the UPL. Polesie is second, one point behind. Earlier in the season, Dnipro, even under Alexander Kucher, was consistently eliminated from the qualifications of all three European Cup tournaments.
In 2023, Dnepr-1 has three official matches left to play – with Chernomorets, Vorskla and Polesie.
