One of the highlights of Boca Juniors in the season, the striker Merentiel was purchased definitively by the club, after an agreement with the Palm trees. The club’s leader and idol, Riquelme was the one who confirmed the information in an interview with radio 10, in Argentina. The acquisition is 70% of the athlete’s economic rights.
“Yesterday (Thursday) we bought Merentiel. We sent an official letter to Palmeiras directors to notify them of the purchase of Merentiel, who will be a Boca Juniors player for many years“, guaranteed the director, who will disburse more money, in addition to what was already paid at the time of the loan.

The Argentine club paid around 800 thousand dollars to acquire the player for the season from Palmeiras. Now, there will be another 3 million to keep 70% of Merentiel’s rights, leaving 10% of them with the Brazilian team for a future sale.
Despite being bought during 2022, Merentiel never had much space in the Verdão squad, facing strong competition with important players, such as Ron and also the Argentine Flaco López. The technical committee diagnosed a difficulty in adapting to Brazilian football.
Even so, upon returning to Argentina, the striker also stood out, having been important throughout the year and helping the team reach the Copa Libertadores final. The athlete even provided the assist for the goal that contributed to the elimination of Palmeiras in the semi-final competition.
