The Committee of Referees of the Ukrainian Football Association analyzed the episode in detail at the beginning of the meeting.
The referee had to send off Beskorovainy in the match against Dynamo, and made the right decision, which was confirmed by the VAR system. This conclusion was made by the UAF Referees Committee after reviewing the episode that occurred at the very beginning of the game of the 14th round of the UPL.
Let’s remember that Maxim Kozyryatsky then dismissed the captain of the Krivoy Rog team for a foul of last resort. As a result, the club from Krivoy Rog lost at home to Dynamo 0:2.
“Vanat started a counterattack and at the same time controlled the ball, headed towards the opponent’s goal, he was chased by two Krivbass players. Beskorovayny from behind creates contact with Vanat and it brings down to him and loses control of the ball, thus depriving him of a chance to score a goal.
Said violation is subject to the Disruption of an Obvious Goal Opportunity (DOGSO) typology and then results in a technical penalty of a penalty kick (the offense was committed outside the penalty area) and a disciplinary sanction for the DOGSO, i.e. a red card.
According to the VAR protocol, this decision was verified by this technology and the technical and disciplinary penalties were confirmed. So, we are talking about the correct decision made by the referee,” the UAF explained.
