Juventus officially announced the extension of the contract with the midfielder Nicolo Fagioli until 2028.
Let us remind you that on October 17, a young football player received a one-year disqualification for participating in illegal bets. At the same time, his five months were replaced by alternative orders – a six-month rehabilitation course for gambling addiction. Fagioli is also required to pay a fine of 12,500 euros.
Taking into account all the sanctions, Nicolo will not be able to play in official matches until the end of the 2023/24 season. But, for example, he will be able to compete at the 2024 European Championship if the Italian national team qualifies for it and he is called up to it.
22-year-old Fagioli is a graduate of the Juventus primavera, who made his way to the base of the Turin club in the fall of 2022. In total, the central midfielder played 45 matches for the Old Lady (six of them this season), scored three times, and completed 6 assists. In November last year, Fagioli made his debut in the first Italian national team.
