The International Football Association Board (IFAB) will consider at its next working meeting the issue of introducing short-term withdrawals of players who disagree with the referee’s decision, reports The temperature .
The agenda of the meeting will be devoted to the topic of “inappropriate behavior of participants in the game”. The IFAB will discuss the possibility of introducing 10-minute suspensions for players if they disagree with the referee’s decision. This rule has been used in test mode in English youth football since 2019.
Additionally, the IFAB may authorize only team captains to address referees; a similar rule applies to rugby.
