“I’m very excited we have this opportunity. Over the course of a month, 32 teams will play 64 matches. We will bring together the strongest teams in the world who will compete for the title of the world club football champion,” said Football Australia CEO James Johnson.

This summer, the FIFA Council unanimously selected the United States to host the 2025 Club World Cup. The tournament will be held for the first time in an expanded format with the participation of 32 teams.

According to quotas, UEFA will receive 12 places at the 2025 Club World Cup. Six places went to CONMEBOL (South America), four each to the Asian Football Confederation, African Football Confederation and CONCACAF (North and Central America and the Caribbean). Oceania received one seat. The host of the tournament will receive another ticket.

The current winner of the Club World Cup is Real Madrid. In February 2023, Blancos beat Al-Hilal in the final (5:3).

The 2023 World Cup will be held from December 12 to 22 in Jeddah (Saudi Arabia). The tournament participants will be Fluminense (Brazil), Manchester City (England), Leon (Mexico), Urawa Red Diamonds (Japan), Auckland (New Zealand), Al Ahly (Egypt) and Al Ittihad (Saudi Arabia).
