Sergei Rebrov’s team will play against Italy on November 20 in Leverkusen
National team defender Ukraine Maxim Taloverov commented on the upcoming match with Italy as part of the qualification for the 2024 European Championship.
“The call to the national team was very unexpected. I always worked in training and did everything possible to get here. I was very happy when I found out about the call to the main team of the country – I dreamed and thought about it since I was six.”
“The match against Italy? I think that our opponent has a very strong squad, but the same can be said about us. Therefore, we have every chance.”
On November 13, the training camp of the Ukrainian national team started in Gdansk, Poland. It is in this city that Rebrov’s team will hold a sparring match against Lechia on November 16, for which the Ukrainians Bohdan Sarnavsky, Ivan Zhelizko and Maxim Khlan, as well as ex-Krivbass player Rifet Kapic, are currently playing.
