French newspaper L’Équipe places Brazilian full-back in French Championship selection of the week
The Brazilian full-back Ismailywhich defends the Lillefrom France, was once again elected to the newspaper’s selection of the round L’Equipe. The 33-year-old player, who has already defended Brazilian Team, has been one of the main names on the team. With vast experience and highlighting his attacking football, the Brazilian has had solid performances and helped the club to be among the first in Ligue 1.
Last season, even with big names like Neymar, Marquinhosamong other Brazilians, Ismaily was the only player from the country to appear in the team of the season.
It is the third time that Ismaily has been included in the team of the round in the current season. To date, 12 rounds of Ligue 1 have been played and Ismaily only did not enter the field in the match against Montpellier, in the fourth round – three days earlier the full-back had played 120 minutes in a match in the preliminary phase of the Conference League.
In the other matches, the Brazilian full-back was a starter in all games, having only been replaced in the duel against Lorient, in the final stretch of the game, which was won easily by Lille.
Lille is currently fourth in the French Championship, with 20 points from 12 games. Fourth place will grant a place in the playoffs of the next Champions League, a competition that Ismaily knows very well. The Brazilian has played 36 games in the world’s main club competition.
