Union Berlin fired head coach Fischer

The coach has been working with the team since July 2018

Union Berlin announced the termination of the contract with the head coach Urs Fischer.

Fischer became head of Union Berlin in July 2018. Before this, the coach worked in several Swiss clubs, including Basel.

In his first year in Germany, Fischer managed to lead Union Berlin to the Bundesliga, after which he kept the team in the German top division. The team finished last season in the Champions League zone.

However, this season Union is experiencing a number of difficulties. The club ranks 18th in the Bundesliga, having achieved only two wins in 11 rounds. At the group stage of the Champions League, the German team took only one point in four games. The Berlin club was also eliminated from the German Cup.

On November 25, Union Berlin will play with Augsburg in the national championship, and on November 29 they will fight with Braga in the 5th round of the Champions League.
