Melgosa: We have a good chance to continue to grow and win matches against Luxembourg and Azerbaijan

The Ukrainian U-21 team has scored nine points after three matches and is the sole leader of Group F

Head coach of the Ukrainian U-21 national team Unai Melgosa commented on the upcoming qualifying matches Euro 2025 With Luxembourg And Azerbaijan.

“A few new players were called up so we could get to know them. In particular, players born in 2002, because we must also start calling on younger players to gain experience. So we want to check them out. We follow players from all over the world.”

“There is also [Владислав] Vanat, who comes from the national team. I talked with Sergei Rebrov, who said that he would not play in this “window”, so he would get this opportunity with us. It is important that Vanat will be with us. We want to know the players even better. Yes, we see what they show in matches for the club, but perhaps we can try something different, so it is very important to have our own vision of the situation.”

“The most important thing to me is that everyone is as close to their maximum as possible. Starting with me, so that I am focused on the goals of the team, the players, everything that is happening around. If there is good work on my part, then I think I can help the players. This is the most important thing for me.”

“If we stay close to our best version, then I think we have a good chance of continuing to improve and winning these games.”
